MTV VMA 2012. Best Female Video: Who should win?

It's that time of year again when MTV celerbrate the last years best music videos. On Thursday the 6th of September, multiple moonmen will be handed out to the artists who have been voted as best Female, Male, Pop, Rock and many many more. But who will win? Who should win? Who should have been nominated? and why the hell have they been nominated?
Over the next few days, I'll take the top categories, pick who I think will win, who should win and who should have been nominated.

Starting with...

Best Female Video, here are the nominations:

  • Beyonce - 'Love on Top'
  •
  • Selena Gomez & the Scene - 'Love you like a love song'
  •
  • Nicki Minaj - 'Starships'
  •
  • Katy Perry - 'Part of me'
  •
  • Rihanna Ft. Calvin Harris - 'We found love'

Who will win: Nicki Minaj - 'Starships.'

Due to her huge fan base, I think this one will go to Nicki Minaj. The video is fun, but like the song, lacks any real depth and is just another faceless dance video, nothing new, exciting or very interesting here, sorry Nicki.

Who should win: Rihanna'We found love.'

Without a doubt, Rihannas 'We found love' video is the best. An original, dark and artistic video which captures the mood of the song perfectly. It's gritty, real and has the feel of a british indie film, I love it.

Who should have been nominated: Lady Gaga - 'Marry the night.'

The absense of Lady Gaga this year is shocking. Maybe her videos aren't as original and innovative as they once were, but she still puts in a lot more effort then most of these videos, no matter how pretentious she may have become.

what do you think? Agree or disagree? Or have I forgotten someone who should have been nominated?

Plus, share, follow and comment and be sure to come back tomorrow for Best male video.
